Once we got to our destination it was all worth it! We got to experience the Grand Canyon and it was amazing!!!! We walked the sky walk, which was really funny with Poppa (who is afraid of heights) and Teagan (who somehow at the age of 2 would not walk on the clear glass and pinned herself to the "white" glass for her walking area).... they very quickly made their way off the sky walk which sits at 4000 feet above the bottom of the canyon (that is 3 Empire State buildings stacked on top of each other).Teagan got to dance with the Hauluapai indians, when she just couldn't stay away and one of the ladies came and took her up to dance with them in their circle... she loved it. We were also told, after an elder watched her jumping continuously at one point that she might be a relative of an ancient Indian spirit, I can't remember his name exactly, but it was something along the lines of "Thunder Bolt". We really enjoyed our time there and got some great pictures.
The Grand Canyon is so big you lose all perspective of scale.... in lots of our pictures we took there were helicopters in them and when we looked at the pictures, you couldn't even see the helicopters.... that's how big this place is! The thing we found interesting was with an easy 4000 foot drop off all of the cliffs, there were NO fences or safety barriers.... one slip and no one would see you again!!!! Therefore, Teagan was wearing her harness the whole time we were there and amazingly she didn't really mind. We had an awesome adventure at the Canyon and followed that up with a trip to the Hoover Dam on our way home... Teagan inspected the fire hydrants and loved telling Poppa..... "LOOK POPPA, WATER!!!!" (She loved informing Poppa of everything she saw all week, like he might have missed it, it was really cute) She would have walked right over the edge of the dam if she could have, good thing Mommy and Poppa kept her nice and close.
